If you were going hiking would you like someone to tell you "dissolve .64 grams of Halite in an aqueous solution and administer at regular intervals to reduce the onset of heat syndromes" or "put a pinch of salt in your water bottle to quench your thirst"?
The latter is the kind of plain english advice we use with our clients at Windigo Incorporated. We don't try to sound self important with things like "As a high liquid asset turnover serial entrepreneur you need to leverage your client relationships through outreach marketing to continue to develop efficient business systems and realize the goals in your 5 year strategic plan" You would instead hear "With your current spending you have about 2 months to increase sales or you will be in overdraft your checking account" I feel like its a disservice to make a client translate the advice that they have just paid for. There are some specific tax and accounting terms that we will use in our practice, but we will explain what they mean. I want you to feel like you able to talk about your business finances, bookkeeping and payroll systems in the same way you would talk to your friend over lunch. If you are currently paying an advisor to use their technical knowledge to make you feel stupid, you would probably be a much happier client with us. - Avery, President
